Susanne Strauss has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. She has been providing editing, coaching, consulting, formatting, and statistical services to graduate students for more than 25 years and specializes in APA Style. She has also worked with many students whose first language was not English. Susanne started her career as an editor while in graduate school where she helped her fellow classmates successfully complete their theses.

In 2020, Susanne created Sunnystyle Books to publish children’s books and educational material on nature and animals, inspiring a love of nature in children. That year, Susanne published Little Jewel’s Remarkable Journey, an award-winning children’s book about a baby hummingbird that she wrote and photographed.

In 2025, as a member of the team with Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV), Susanne wrote and designed Family Love, which tells the story of Big Bear’s bald eagles, Jackie and Shadow, and their eaglets in the 2025 nesting season. All proceeds from the book go to FOBBV.
